EV 3262 The North Col of Everest between Everest and Changtse is a challenging destination in itself and was used for by all 7 British Expeditions in the 1920s and 1930s. However Everest was first climbed from the Nepalese side in 1953 by Edmund Hillary and Sherpa Tenzing and the first successful ascent via the North Col route was by the Chinese in 1960.
