Description:

IM 2615 The Eiger, Bernese Alps, Switzerland – a classic view of the North Face that remained one of the last unsolved problems in the Alps. Adolf Hitler was insistent that the first ascent should be made by a German team which resulted in many German attempts in the 1930s until it was finally climbed in 1938 by a German/Austrian group including Heinrich Harrer. It remains a challenging climb today.
