IM 9891 Approaching Cho Oyu – at 8,201 m (26,906 ft) Cho Oyu is the 6th highest peak in the world but considered one of the easiest of the 14 8,000ers to climb so receives dozens of groups a year. Although there are not so many technical challenges it remains a formidable challenge that sadly results in fatalities most years. This image was taken in the Gokyo Valley Nepal but all attempts to climb the mountain start from the north side in Tibet.
