Everest from Three Sides

Photographer Michael Bromfield is one of the few individuals fortunate to have been able to have visited all three sides of the world’s highest mountain.

As well as having made multiple visits to Everest Base Camp in Nepal Michael has also followed the route of the early British expeditions from Rongbuk in Tibet on the north side of Everest, past Advance Base Camp and the North Col to the Raphu La at the foot of the Everest’s famed northeast ridge. He has also journeyed from the Village of Kharta on the east side of Everest across the Shoa La Pass and up the Kama Valley to the rarely visited East (Kangshung) Face of Everest.

Michael has shot tens of thousands of images in the Everest area and this exhibition gives visitors a rare opportunity to see images of many rarely visited areas around the world’s most famous mountain.
